EYFS

Within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), children learn by playing, exploring, being active, and engaging in creative and critical thinking. Both indoor and outdoor environments are designed to support this dynamic learning process. The prepared environment also allows for age-appropriate free play.

Encouraging Individual Interests and Development

Our practitioners carefully observe and track each child’s interests, encouraging and supporting them to explore at their own pace. By taking risks and discussing their experiences and learning, children develop self-esteem, self-knowledge, and confidence in their abilities.

Seven Areas of Learning and Development

Your child will be acquiring new skills, gaining knowledge, and demonstrating understanding through seven areas of learning and development. Initially, children focus on three prime areas:

  • Communication and language

  • Physical development

  • Personal, social, and emotional development

These prime areas are crucial for healthy development and future learning. As children grow, these foundational skills support their development in four specific areas:

  • Literacy

  • Mathematics

  • Understanding the world

  • Expressive arts and design
